This weekend saw the launch of The Photo Show at the NEC Birmingham - 2020 was inevitably cancelled so there a great atmosphere with a feeling of some normality. I was fortunate enough to be invited to exhibit my concrete portrait on the Epson Stand, because they have, in part been my collaborators, offering practical support during my Arts Council DYC{ project.
I was a great show - met lots of people and discussed the potential of future artistic collaborations, as well as getting some insight into how to fine tune the 'focus' of my project to create a more long lasting and meaningful approach - lots to mull over and make in the coming weeks. Thanks to Nick White and Paul Restrick from Epson UK and the super interesting #natcoalson for a great conversation.
I saw your concrete image at the NEC yesterday and was very impressed, having experimented with embedding printed tissue in wax for encaustic, i appreciate the challenges and endless frustrations of alternative printing techniques, it is a wonderful piece and would appreciate any information on the technique and its possible application to wax, wood and terracotta substrates etc... thanks David
